crossRev. Martin Parker was born in Georgia and moved to Alabama with his father and mother Carter and Charity Dial Parker.  Martin married his first wife in Coosa County Alabama.  Martin started his ministry while in Coosa County and is shown on marriage records as the Minister of the Gospel. Rev. Martin Parker lived in Pine Valley, Yalobusha County, Ms. when he died. He was 83 a minister of Tabernacle Church. Martin was called to Water Valley, Ms. on some sort of ministry business, on his return home he was caught in a winter snow storm. He caught pneumonia and died.  When neighbors saw the great number of visitors going to Rev. Martin Parker's home it is said he was so loved they dropped their reins and left the animals in the fields to go to his home to see about Martin.
He is buried at Tabernacle Church Cem. hwy 32, outside Pine Valley.   Margie
