Franklin Benjamin Whatley was the son of Mary Elizabeth Johns. Margaret Jones I believe is the sister or close relative of Mary Elizabeth Johns. Both women are very near in age and both remained in the same spot with the same family connections until their deaths.
If this is true Zeola Carlean and Charles's grandmothers were sisters. Zeola descending from Mary Elizabeth Johns and Charley from Margaret Johns. All the help we can get is needed to find the ancestors of Mary Elizabeth Johns and Margaret Johns both born in SC. Mary Elizabeth Johns is shown owing land on the 1830 census for Clarke Co., Al.
