Crow-Crowell Family Page

Much has been said and written regarding the Crow/Crowe/Crowell family of Yarmouth and Barnstable area with little or no supporting source documents to prove the statements has been published online or at least that I can find.

I want to ask that all Crow Crowe and Crowell researchers who have copies of original source documents or know where the sources can be obtained contact me and either send me a copy or the information on where to write. As I obtain the records I will scan and place them online for all researchers. Organizations like the Seventeenth Century Club and Mayflower organization require either original source documents. genealogical publications or book sources that were printed prior to certain dates.

Samuel DENNIS of Woodbridge, having married Mary, the widow of Edward CROW, and thereby legally become the administrator 
of the estate of said CROW, who has died intestate, empowers his said wife to manage the  estate for the benefit of her children by 
Crow, vizt:  Mary, Yelvarton, Joseph and Edward; followed by the inventory of the part of the estate, belonging to the children, 
and the receipt by Mary DENNIS for it on behalf of her children

Their daughter Bathshua born Tuesday ye 26 of June & died in ye Spring 1684
Their son Edward born 6 of June 1685

Mary Crow(ell) daughter of Mary and Edward Crowell married Samuel Dennis, Jr. son of Samuel Dennis, Sr. they were not blood related. Samuel Dennis, Sr. married the mother and Samuel Dennis, Jr. married the daughter, Woodbridge, NJ.

I have the wills of Samuel Dennis, Sr. 1709 and Samuel Dennis, Jr. 1719 both probated in Woodbridge NJ.

Samuel Dennis, Jr. and Mary Crowell had a daughter named Reliance who inherited from her father in his will.
Reliance married William Paschal. I descend from Mary Crowell Daughter of Edward Crow (ell).

She married HINCKS GROSS2 25 July 1734, son of THOMAS GROSS and ELIZABETH HINCKS. He was born 7 June 1708 in Hingham, Ma, and died 1786. Notes for ABIGAIL CROWELL: Name is English, derived from the place name in Oxfordshire Crowell 'crow's stream.' Notes for HINCKS GROSS: Lived in British provinces, then removed to Wellfleet, according to tradition. His house was east of Gull Pond, not far from the neck that divides the ponds. Held various offices & was quite prominent in business affairs. In will he remembers his second wife, Berthia and all of children excepting Hannah Rich. His grandson Hincks, is to receive certain articles, including his great chair & bible. The buld of estate-lands, tenements, etc-left to his elder son, Thomas the executor. wll dated 18 March 1786. Children of ABIGAIL CROWELL and HINCKS GROSS are: i. HULDAH6 GROSS, m. JOSIAH RYDER; b. 1740; d. 28 September 1813, Chatham, Mass. Notes for HULDAH GROSS: Name is German, derived from a nickname for a large, fat, plump, stocky, husky person; sometimes the name is the shortened for of compound names favored by the German Jews. ii.
