South Houston County Road 9,
Jellico Community, Houston County, Alabama.
From
Ross Clark Circle in Dothan, on US Highway 84 West, go approximately 9 miles,
turn left on South Houston County Road 9, go approximately ¼ mile, will pass
Piney Grove Assembly of God Church before coming to Winslette Chapel Methodist
Church.T
he cemetery does not belong to the church, but to the Jellico
Community
There
is a monument in the cemetery stating “Jellico Community Cemetery, Established
1819,
Erected In Memory of Merle Ballard." There are a large number of unmarked
graves in the cemetery,
information on several graves are readable. If you know the location of a
unmarked grave for your family member please mark it
The church needs information on the
history of the church and cemetery and help in identifying the unmarked graves
