Bond by Thomas BOYD, Attorney at law and John ADAMS, both of Beaufort precinct, Bath Co. to deliver to Roger KENYON on or before the last Tuesday in March next, a Negro slave called Philander. Agreement based on complaint by Charles Worth GLOVER of South Carolina, Gent. 29 Jan 1721/22.
Complaint of James CORDES, Esq. against John GLOVER of Bertie precnt. that he, CORDES, in South Carolina, owned a slave, Cesar, a sawyer by trade, originally purchased for £100. On about 10 June 1735, “Cesar did casually loose, which said Negro slave so lost afterwards that is to say on or about the tenth day of September” in the same year was found in the possession of GLOVER in Bertie precinct. CORDES states that GLOVER continued to harbor Cesar knowing that he was the property of CORDES. CORDES is suing for damages of £500. March court 1736

Complaint by Robert WILSFORD against Thomas BRYANT that on 1 May 1731 BRYANT took a Negro slave named Jack from him and harbored him on his property. Mar. court 1732 . Chatham County North Carolina Will of Thomas Glover NC State Archives film # C.022.80001 Vo.l A, pg. 25, dated 18 Oct. 1799 Proved in the February court session of 1800 In the name of God Amen this 13 Oct. I Thomas Glover of Chatham County State of North Carolina being weak in body but of good and sound memory thanks be to almighty God and calling to remembrance the uncertain Estate, of this transitory life and that all flesh must yield to death when it shall please God to call do make Constitute, ordain & declare this my last Will and Testament in manner & form following revoking & annulling by these presents all any every Testament or Testaments Will or Wills heretofore by me made; declared wither by words or writing and this is to be taken only for my last Will and Testament and none other.
First- I give and commit my soul unto almighty God who gave it and my
body to be decently buried in such a place where it shall please my
Executors hereafter named - to appoint- and now for the settling of my
temporal Estate such goods chattels, Lands, Debts as it hath pleased
God to Bestow upon me in form and manner following
1st That all my debts shall be paid And I do appoint Elijah Hunter?
& Micajah McGee, my sole Executors and Administrators
Item I give and bequeath unto James Walding and Thomas Walding all my
Land to be divided between the two. And that their mother a Martha
Walding shall live on said Land All said boys is of age
And I bequeath all my household goods to Martha Walding and one cow to
Elizabeth Walding daughter of sd martha Walding. And my mare I leave-
to Mary Walding daughter (of) sd Martha Walding. As witness my hand &
