Bro. Andrew Lee Marshall, 78, died
Saturday, September 13, 2003, at the Veterans
Administration Hospital in Memphis. He was born April 27, 1925, in Drew, Miss.,
the son of Martin Luther Marshall and Bessie Mae Kendall Marshall. He was a
Bishop at Mt. Olive Church of God and Jesus Christ where he served as Pastor for
28 years up until his retirement. He was member of Grissom Chapel Holiness
Church in Burnsville . He was a veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard, serving for 3
1/2 years during World World War II. He lived a long, Godly life and led many
souls to the Lord through his ministry and friendship. He was an inspiration to
everyone he knew and loved, a legacy treasured by his family. He lived by the
scripture verse Isaiah 26: paraphrased) “Keep you in perfect peace whose mind is
stayed on him.”
He is survived by his wife, Annie Marshall, whom he
married January 11 1942; six sons, A. L. “Buddy Marshall Jr. and his wife Addean
of Booneville, Robert “Bobby” Marshall and his wife Mary Nell of Horn Lake; Paul
Marshall and his wife Pam of Burnsville, John Marshall and his wife Julie of
Booneville, Larry Marshall and his wife Debbie of Corinth , and Mark Marshall
and his wife Robin of Corinth; three daughters, Shirley Ann Moss and her husband
Troy of Southaven, Mary Pauline “Tootie” Childress and her husband T. J. of Como
and Kathryn “Kathy” Moore and her husband Rev. Buddy Moore of Horn Lake; three
brothers, James “Jimmy” Marshall and his wife Brenda of Water Valley, Tommy
Marshall and his wife Treva of Coffeville, and Charles Howard and his wife Pat
of Olive Branch; three sisters, Cheryl Morgan and her husband Gary of
Booneville, Betty Martin and her husband Bobby of Water Valley, and Carol Hill
of Coffeville; 33 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren numerous nieces,
nephews, great-nephews and nieces, and great-great nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Alfred
Marshall and a sister, Bessie Ruth Turner.
Pallbearers are grandsons Phillip Marshall, Daylon
Williamson, Bobby Ray Marshall, Jeff Childress, Allan Moore, Tracy Marshall,
Starsky Marshall, and Joel Marshall.
Honorary
pallbearers are his other grandsons and his fellow ministers
