Mourning Jewelry

In the center of the heart is hair work, covered by a heart shaped crystal and surrounded by seed pearls.
Seed pearls were used in mourning jewelry to symbolize tears.

The setting is 9kt. rose gold and the image is very sharp and crisp.  Both hair work and sepia paint was used to create this memorial image on ivory.  On the back is inscribed, "John Hanbury died 9th feb 1792 aged 58".
