Church Feb. 27 1808 Received by letter bro Elizah Moseley. Made a choice of Bro Micajah Brooks for deacon and appointed the 4th Saturday in April fo his ordination and that that day be observed by the church, as a day of fasting and prayer. March 26th 1808 Agreed to place in the hands of the deacon annually money for the use of the church by substance and agreed that the church book be brought quarterly to the church. April 23 1808 Received by experience, Mary Pace and by letter Mary Pitts. Agreed to send Bro Moseley and John Pressley to the church at White Plains. Agreed to look to the Lord for a Pastor. Bro Brooks ordained a deacon by Bro Ross and Moseley. Received by letter Susannah Cowling (Susannah Cowen is correct spelling as shown later in minute book). June 25, 1808 Received by experience Jane Ashfield, Mary Dowel and Hezekiah Burney, and Mary Duck, and Sarah Landers by letter. Chose Bro Moseley (Mosely) Pastor during ? at the option of both parties July 23, 1808 Received by letter, Judith Rice, and John Glover and by experience John Brownfield and Mary Wo? Attended to query is washing the saints feet a Gospel ordinance? Answered in the affirmative.
Notes:
The reason for my post is that the name Moseley/Mosely has been transcribed as
Morley. The correct name on page 2, is Elijah Moseley, who is also mentioned
as Bro. Moseley. His wife is Susannah W. Moseley, his father is the Robert
Morley (should be Moseley) on page 4, under new members on Dec. 24, 1808. His
brother Benjamin Moseley is also present with his wife Mary. Your attention
